This course in accessibility and suppression of architectural barriers offers you a specialized training in the field. In the field of accessibility and architectural barriers, applying the concepts of universal accessibility and design for all to urban planning, means that any person, regardless of their capacity or disability, can access a way or urban public space, integrate into it and communicate and interrelate with its contents. For this, it is necessary to eliminate any type of obstacle that makes such an integration difficult.

- Know the objective of universal accessibility for the achievement of personal autonomy. - Define and classify the different types of architectural barriers. - Know the characteristics of urban and architectural design for all people. - Show the international accessibility symbol and its usefulness. - Develop regulations regarding accessibility. - Develop the requirements that must be taken into account in homes so that people with disabilities or reduced mobility, have the maximum possible autonomy and comfort. - Number the basic principles that an accessible home must meet. - Explain the most common difficulties with which people with disabilities or reduced mobility are found in public buildings, and the requirements that they must meet to be accessible. - Know the basic measures required to pedestrian itineraries. - Explain the characteristics that must meet the elements of the training centers with which the integral accessibility of them is guaranteed. - Define accessible transport and the difficulties that people find in it, and know the adaptations that are made in each of the means of transport to make them accessible. - Explain the basic principles that must be taken into account when lending leisure to people with disabilities, as well as the adaptations and requirements that such leisure places must meet to be accessible. - Know the types of technologies in relation to accessibility. - Identify the characteristics that must meet the main evacuation routes of buildings, to be accessible to people with reduced mobility.

It develops its professional activity both on its own and integrated into companies, public or private, dedicated to studying, promotion, implementation and maintenance of accessible elements in buildings and urban roads, providing a design for all in these spaces.

This course in accessibility and suppression of architectural barriers prepares to know the basic concepts and the elimination of architectural barriers, as well as the characteristics that the different spaces in which people carry out their day to day, to be able to consider them accessible to all people and without barriers so that each individual can develop their occupations autonomously. Thus, the professional will be able to develop an adequate assessment of the user's environment with some type of limitation, offering different adaptations and support products to develop the activities mentioned in the most independent way possible.

This course in accessibility and suppression of architectural barriers is addressed to students and professionals of occupational therapy, social work, etc., and to all those interested in acquiring knowledge related to the theme of accessibility and the elimination of architectural barriers in all spaces.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
