Basic Mathematics and Statistics Course

This basic course of mathematics and statistics offers specialized training in the field. Mathematical statistics is the previous scale in the study of statistics from a purely formal point of view, using the theory of probability and other branches of mathematics such as linear algebra and mathematical analysis. Mathematical statistics are about obtaining information from the data. In practice such data contain some randomness or uncertainty. Statistics work with these data using the methods of probability theory. Mathematical statistics are divided into: descriptive statistics and statistical inference. Mathematical statistics is the theoretical basis for many practices in applied statistics.

- Train to respond to complex real problems, developing hypotheses and models, together with observations of a phenomenon or a system in a non -abstract context. - Provide capacities and skills for data analysis, from the first stage of identification and formulation of problems, the subsequent decision on the design, collection and coding of data, their analysis, and the adjustment and validation of models, the interpretation of results, the publication and presentation of them, to the elaboration of conclusions and future work proposals. - Provide common and solid training to perform your professional activity as statistical. -Provide capacities to understand the problems posed in fields as diverse as health, engineering, biology, marketing ..., so that they can elaborate the appropriate models to the context, since, in most cases, the graduates will have to collaborate and work together with specialist experts from other disciplines within the field in which their professional activity is located as statistical.

Official statistics, market studies, surveys, polls, finance, banking, clinical experiments planning, social interest data analysis, quality control of industrial processes, administration, research, teaching.

The basic course of mathematics and statistics prepares to contribute to society not only data processing and graph theory as the only tools but the modeling, the creation of numerical models structures that allow to reproduce a reality and that can vary conditions and making simulations as a test laboratory prior to its real implementation.

This course of mathematics and statistics is aimed at all those students who wish to guide their studies towards statistics or mathematics and have an interest in improving their “departure” level for better academic use.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
