By completing this Search Dogs Course, it is intended that the students achieve the following objectives. - Recognize the origin and evolution of human odor and its dispersion in open spaces, as well as the meteorological, aerological, and orographic aspects necessary to work in mountain areas. - Stipulate when and how canine teams are used to search and locate people through venting, in large areas. - Develop a work program to train and train the dog to search and locate people in large areas, using venting. - Apply training techniques, based on an established work program, to teach a dog to search and locate people in large areas, denoting their presence to the handler.
He carries out his professional activity both on his own and as an employee, in the field of small, medium and large private companies, and private homes, as well as in public administrations and/or entities, related to security, defense and surveillance, detection, search, rescue and rescue of victims, search and detection of odorous substances, in support operations for entities associated with security and/or civil protection. Its activity, in general, is carried out autonomously, although it may depend, circumstantially, on a hierarchical superior.
This Search Dogs Course conforms to the training itinerary of the Training Unit UF2742 Training of Dogs in Search and Locating People by Ventilation, in Large Areas. Certifying that you have passed the different Units of Competence included in it. And it is aimed at the accreditation of the professional skills acquired through work experience and non-formal training, through which you will be eligible to obtain the corresponding Professional Certificate. Through the respective calls published by the different Autonomous Communities, as well as the Ministry of Labor itself (Royal Decree 659/2023, of July 18, which develops the organization of the Vocational Training System and establishes a permanent procedure for the accreditation of professional skills acquired through work experience or non-formal training).
