MF0393-3 Fundamentals and Techniques of Brachytherapy Treatments

In recent times, countless types of new diseases have been detected that until recently it was not even known. In addition, numerous forms of prevention and healing are also detected. This is the case of radiotherapy, carrying out treatments with ionizing radiation under medical prescription, with equipment provided by encapsulated sources or radiation producers, applying general and specific radioprotection standards and collaborating with the doctors responsible for the hospital radiological protection units, following quality guarantee standards, today it is possible. Thus, with this course it is intended to collaborate with the optional in the preparation and application of brachytherapy treatments.

- Explain the different types of brachytherapy. - Analyze the technical requirements necessary for the management and correct storage of radiation sources in the gammateca. - Describe, in the laboratory of accessories, the clamping masks and molds used in brachytherapy treatments. - List the procedures for use in brachytherapy operating room with the characteristics they present. - Analyze the technical and material requirements necessary to apply treatments in intracavitary brachytherapy. - Analyze the technical and material requirements necessary to apply treatments in interstitial brachytherapy. - Analyze the removal techniques of radiation sources. - Select new brachytherapy technologies to respond to emerging needs and more selective indications.

This formation is adjusted to the training itinerary of the MF0393_3 Fundamentals and techniques of brachytherapy treatments, certifying having overcome the different competence units included, and is aimed at the accreditation of the professional competences acquired through work experience and non -formal training, via which will opt for obtaining the corresponding certificate of professionalism, through the respective calls They are publishing the different autonomous communities, as well as the Ministry of Labor itself (Royal Decree 659/2023, of July 18, which develops the management of the professional training system and establishes a permanent procedure for the accreditation of professional competences acquired by work experience or non -formal training).

This course is aimed at all those professionals who have related their work activity to the world of radiotherapy in general and with the foundations and techniques of Brachytherapy treatments in particular. To all people interested in training in this area.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
