Summary
Veterinary care constitutes a work environment in growing expansion. The proliferation of pets and the increase in systematic care (nutrition, vaccines, sterilization, monitoring, disease prevention) implies a growing demand for specialists in this area. The veterinary clinic assistant has become a professional field that claims a specialization. This course enables to help the veterinarian in the procedures for manipulation, processing, conservation and transport of biological samples necessary for study in the laboratory.

With this course, the student will learn to collect samples following the procedures established for subsequent analysis identifying and registering the evidence and samples in manual or computer support, as well as learning in prevention of occupational hazards and elimination of waste generated in safety conditions and compliance with the regulations that regulate the management of biological waste. This formation adjusts to the training itinerary of the MF1586_3 Laboratory analysis in animal biological samples, certifying having overcome the different competence units included, and is aimed at the accreditation of the professional competences acquired through the work experience and the non -formal training, via which will opt for obtaining the corresponding certificate of professionalism, through the respective calls They are publishing the different autonomous communities, as well as the Ministry of Labor itself (Royal Decree 659/2023, of July 18, which develops the management of the professional training system and establishes a permanent procedure for the accreditation of professional competences acquired by work experience or non -formal training).
