Nursing course in the surgical field (university degree + 8 ECTS credits)

The nursing course in the surgical field is characterized by providing you with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform as a specialized nurse in surgical services. The agenda covers from the foundations of the operating room to preoperative and postoperative care, through sterilization, surgical instruments, suture management, patient transfer to the operating room and surgical specialties. In addition, pharmacology and anesthesia are also emphasized, as well as the role of nursing in the operating room. With this training you will have a highly trained teaching team that is composed of professionals with experience in the surgical field.

- Acquire knowledge about the integral management of the surgical patient. - Know the most common surgical procedures and techniques and understand the role of the nurse. - Learn the principles and practices of cleaning, sterilization and disinfection in the surgical field. - Dominate the use and manipulation of surgical instruments. - Provide specialized nursing care in the preoperative and postoperative. - Understand the pharmacology related to surgery and the different routes of administration. - Develop knowledge about anesthesia and analgesia.

This course is aimed exclusively at diplomas or graduates in nursing according to Law 44/2003, of November 21, on the ordination of health professions.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
