Prenatal diagnostic course (university degree + 8 ECTS credits)

Thanks to this course in prenatal diagnosis you will obtain specialized formation in the area of fetal medicine of great relevance for the good course of pregnancy of the pregnancy. Training in both genetics and dysmorphology will be acquired by the student, in addition it will be trained in skills in diagnostic procedures (image techniques and invasive techniques). In addition, thanks to the introduction of technological innovations in the field of prenatal genetic diagnosis and its generalized use in clinical practice, the continuous update of this knowledge by the professional is necessary. These new advances in prenatal diagnosis may be of great help in fetal medicine and health context in general.

Professional outputs of this prenatal diagnosis course are intended to cover those positions in which specific diagnosis and prenatal diagnosis are required in prenatal stage, clinical geneticists, genetic advisors or any medical professional who requires specialized training.

This course in prenatal diagnosis is intended to provide students with a quality training, designed for the development of theoretical-practical practice regarding the concepts of fetal medicine in terms of prenatal genetic diagnosis, such as the realization of diagnostic tests, management of anomalies in ultrasound, as well as the sieve of aneuploidies and prenatal tests that can emerge.

This course is aimed exclusively at health personnel according to Law 44/2003, of November 21, on the ordination of health professions.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
