UF2075 course application of software tools and computational methods to biotechnological information

In the field of chemistry it is necessary to know the different fields of the organization and control of processes and realization of biotechnological services, within the professional area of the chemical process. Thus, this course is intended to provide the necessary knowledge related to bioinformatics and applicable software applications.

- List and describe the fundamental logical systems for the search for data in molecular biology and navigation tools. - Distinguish and perform the necessary actions to recognize and modify annotations in specific languages. - Relate operations with different databases, identifying your interoperability and comparing records. - Determine the appropriate values in carrying out the search, integrating the appropriate graphic representation programs, and performing it efficiently. - Build elementary annotations for reading protein and nucleic acid sequences. - Relate operations with different databases, identifying your interoperability and comparing records. - Prepare the structure of files and file systems according to previously established requirements. - Document the parameters used, the results obtained and, where appropriate, the system adaptations. - Identify the different types of memory that make up the computer. - Define the concept of microchip. - Identify the characteristics of cache memory and different types of memory that exist. - List the main characteristics of hard drives. - Relate the different portable devices with the actions related to the storage of the information.

Chemistry professionals who develop their professional activity both on their own and integrated into companies, public or private, dedicated to obtaining and exchanging biotechnological data using telematic networks and bioinformatics techniques.

This training adjusts to the training itinerary of the Formative Unit UF2075 Application of software tools and computational methods to biotechnological information certifying having exceeded the different competence units included in it, and is aimed at the accreditation of the professional competences acquired through the work experience and the non -formal training, via which it will choose to obtain the corresponding certificate of professionalism, through the respective Calls that are publishing the different autonomous communities, as well as the Ministry of Labor itself (Royal Decree 659/2023, of July 18, which develops the management of the professional training system and establishes a permanent procedure for the accreditation of professional competences acquired by work experience or non -formal training).

This course is aimed at the professionals of the world of chemistry, specifically to the organization and control of processes and realization of biotechnological services, within the professional area chemical process, and to all those people interested in acquiring knowledge related to the application of software tools and computational methods to biotechnological information.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
