Course for attention and care in nephrology and renal alterations (university degree + 8 ECTS credits)

The course of attention and care in nephrology and renal alterations provide you with the necessary knowledge and skills in the field of dialysis and nephrology. This course is structured in ten didactic units that cover from the anatomical and physiological foundations of nephrology to the nursing care specialized in the dialysis unit. You will learn about urinary system disorders, congenital and hereditary diseases, renal failure, hydroelectric and acid-base imbalances, as well as the basic concepts of hemodialysis. In addition, health education, diet and psychological support necessary for dialysis patients will be addressed. You will also have a team of specialized professionals in the field.

- Understand the anatomy and physiology of the urinary system, as well as the alterations associated with diseases. - Obtain knowledge about renal failure and its different etiologies. - Develop skills in the care and treatment of patients with this condition. - Evaluate hydroelectric and acid-base imbalances that may occur in patients with kidney diseases. - Know the basic principles of hemodialysis and apply patient care techniques. - Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the dialysis unit, understanding their needs. - Acquire skills in health education for dialysis patients.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
