- Apply techniques for evaluating physical, morphological and behavioral conditions in work areas, aimed at selecting a dog for search and detection tasks for odorous substances. - Identify the characteristics and properties of odorous substances for use in the training of the detection dog. - Apply dog training techniques with and without leash control by the trainer to enhance the dog's olfactory sense in the search and detection of odorous substances, taking into account animal well-being. - Apply search and detection techniques for odorous substances, taking into account animal welfare criteria, carrying out registration and location tasks.
He carries out his professional activity both on his own and as an employee, in the field of small, medium and large private companies, and private homes, as well as in public administrations and/or entities, related to security, defense and surveillance, detection, search, rescue and rescue of victims, search and detection of odorous substances, in support operations for entities associated with security and/or civil protection. Its activity, in general, is carried out autonomously, although it may depend, circumstantially, on a hierarchical superior.
This training conforms to the training itinerary of the Training Module MF1758_3 Search and detection of odorous substances with dogs, certifying having passed the different Units of Competence included in it, and is aimed at the accreditation of the Professional Competencies acquired through work experience and non-formal training, a route through which you will be eligible to obtain the corresponding Certificate of Professionalism, through the respective calls published by the different Autonomous Communities, as well as the Ministry of Labor itself (Royal Decree 659/2023, of July 18, which develops the organization of the Vocational Training System and establishes a permanent procedure for the accreditation of professional skills acquired through work experience or non-formal training).
