Summary
Periodontal diseases include a set of circumstances that affect any organ of the periodont, that is, it is an inflammatory process of gums that cause damage to teeth tissues. The treatment consists mostly of the control of the risk factors, and in severe cases a periodontal surgery, whose primary objective is not healing, but the exeresis of the lesions, by which a good subsequent maintenance of the periodonto will be guaranteed before the etiological factors. With this course in periodontics for dental hygienists, you will learn and know the most common journalous diseases, how to detect them and how to treat them. It will also acquire knowledge about the journalous treatment and the instruments used.
