Canine nutrition and food course (university degree + 8 ECTS credits)

Knowing and analyzing the nutritional needs of the dog according to its own characteristics, to offer at all times the most appropriate food for its state, it is of vital importance not only at the clinical level, but also to guarantee a good state of health in its day to day. By means of the current canine nutrition course, students are offered the appropriate knowledge for it.

- Know and acquire the basic concepts of nutrition, as well as the main needs of dogs. - Knowing healthy eating, since it is accompanied by physical and psychic well -being and delays dog health complications. - Knowing how to balance a daily diet for each particular dog, depending on their individual characteristics and their physiological state. - To raise awareness of the important role that food plays in the prevention of various health disorders. - Acquire knowledge of dietary therapy in multiple pathologies in dogs, which constitutes a total or partial part of their treatment.

Work as a specialist in canine nutrition in veterinary clinics, in establishments for the sale of foods and products for dogs or in canine nurseries.

Thanks to the canine nutrition course you will train to elaborate and balance the diet of all types of dogs, attending in each case to its characteristics and health status, so that its quality of life can be improved and prevent possible pathologies associated with food.

This canine nutrition course is especially oriented to those who work in establishments specialized in pets and want to acquire technical knowledge in canine food and nutrition suitable for their professional development. Likewise, the canine nutrition course is addressed to all people interested in knowing the basic principles of nutrition and its application to dog feeding, taking into account at all times the differentiated needs of healthy and sick specimens, and depending on their age, race and weight.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
