This course in catastrophes and large risks offers specialized training in the field. A catastrophe is considered that situation in which the established order of the elements of the environment is altered and causes damage to the physical, psychic and structural level. This course aims to provide information about the types of catastrophes that can be given in a specific area, mainly attending to the main characteristics of origin, danger variables and bases for estimation, among other data. It also intends to provide information on the damage caused by the catastrophe, and how to address the resources to recover the previous established order and continue again, as far as possible, with the daily normality.

- Delimit the concept of catastrophe and specify the most relevant properties to consider an event as a catastrophe. - Analyze the social, economic and political effects that leads to the occurrence of a catastrophe. - Differentiate the natural, technological and anthropic risks that can cause a catastrophe, as well as attend to the vulnerability criteria of each of these risks. - Describe the activities that are considered as natural risks, according to their characteristics, genesis, danger variables and bases for estimation. - Explain and relate the activities considered as technological risks, taking into account the characteristics, genesis, danger variables and bases for their estimate. - Analyze those activities that can be considered as anthropic risks, from a perspective of Genesis, danger variables, etc. - Know the main procedures and elements when preparing a risk map. - Evaluate the damages caused by the catastrophe at the infrastructure and basic services level. - Develop rehabilitation and coordination plans within the controls of control and rehabilitation of the damage caused by the catastrophe. - Perform an assessment of damage and learn how available aids in cases of emergencies and catastrophes are managed.

It also prepares you for the evaluation of the damages caused both in structures and in basic community services, in addition to assessing the damages and management of aids that promote the rehabilitation and recovery of the conditions prior to the catastrophe.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
