Summary

This course in current children's and youth literature offers you a specialized training in the field. Currently, literature is of great importance in society, since it has been configured not only as another subject of the school environment, but as a way of transmitting to the youngest the culture of the country. This course in current children's and youth literature aims to provide information on the history of literature and the main themes that are addressed in the current infant-juvenile sector, analyzing the resources used for the transmission of values and culture through the different forms of children's and youth literature. It also intends to provide some basic indications of how to promote reading in young people and thus promote a reading habit from an early age.

Goals

- Develop the history of literature focusing attention on the didactics of literature, from medieval times to the present. - Describe the key aspects that characterize children's and youth literature. - Know the evolution of the Enlightenment until today. - Highlight some of the main authors and most renowned illustrators today, attending to their contribution to literature. - Describe the influence of literature on the social and creative development of the person. - Explain the educating function of children's and youth literature as a values transmission tool. - Explain the criteria to consider in a literary text and evaluate the quality of a text. - Provide basic indications about the methodology of telling stories and the figure of the storyteller. - Indicate criteria to take into account to foster a reading habit. - Briefly develop what the library service consists of.
