Summary
Breastfeeding is a complex and fundamental physiological process for the optimal welfare and development of the newborn. The deep understanding of the physiological mechanisms involved in breastfeeding is essential for health professionals, infant mothers and communities in general. During this diploma in breastfeeding physiology, participants will acquire a detailed understanding of the anatomy and operation of the mammary gland, as well as the lactogenesis, lactopoiesis process and changes in the composition of milk over time. In addition, lactogenic hormones involved in the production and secretion of breast milk and its impact on attachment and successful breastfeeding will be examined
