Discology and musical criticism

Discology can be defined as the auxiliary science of musicology in charge of the analysis of the support and musical content that, together with a sociological approach of music and the study of changes derived from the technological and digital revolution, allows us to understand aspects related to the supports of musical content and their use at present. Given this concept, it can be affirmed that it includes a great field in the field of music and informative and journalistic practice. With the realization of this course, it seeks to provide a clear and general vision, as well as the knowledge, multidisciplinary competences and necessary skills, in relation to the discology and musical criticism.

- Develop the concepts of discology and discography, making special reference to their differences. - Highlight the requirements that must be met to elaborate a critical music. - Identify the role of musical criticism from an aesthetic perspective and from a poetic perspective. - Know what the methodology and deontology of a musical critic consist of. - Describe the style and structure of a musical criticism. - Explain the key notes about critical style. - Know the main aspects that must be taken into account in the presentation of the texts. - Highlight the work of the Spanish Society of Musical Dissemination.

The course of discology and musical criticism prepares students for the acquisition of knowledge, multidisciplinary skills and skills required to carry out the professional practice with the required quality.

This course of discology and musical criticism is aimed at all those people who, either for personal or professional reasons, are interested in acquiring the knowledge related to the music sector, specifically with the discology and musical criticism.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
