The importance of nutrition is that an adequate food intake will allow us to have a full and healthy life. Good food supported by regular physical exercise will significantly improve our health and our quality of life. With this course, students can lay the theoretical and practical basis that allow them to acquire the professional competences necessary to develop balanced diets that allow preventing diseases and pathologies associated with inadequate nutrition, as well as knowing the fundamental principles of dietary and nutrition: techniques, therapies, concepts and treatments that will make students who approach these contents a professional in the field of nutrition and health.

Know how nutrition and life habits affect the person's health. Analyze the main theoretical concepts related to nutrition. Establish a classification of food and nutrients that allows differentiating the characteristics that each of them possesses. Perform an analysis of the nutritional needs that each individual possesses attending to specificities of genetic and biological origin. Develop techniques for elaboration of diets based on balance and disease prevention. Approach to the knowledge of the different pathologies derived from incorrect nutrition and unhealthy lifestyle habits. Establish a treatment that allows preventing, avoiding or treating disorders derived from nutrition.

Nutritionist in public dining rooms, dietitist and nutritionist in dietary consultations, nutrition franchises, diets elaboration equipment in hospitals and in the sport of elite, head of food for catering companies and any organization or company of the hospitality sector (hotels, restaurants and bars).

This course aims to prepare students to have the necessary skills that allow them to elaborate and/or supervise the food that people receive throughout the entire life cycle, as well as offer the necessary knowledge for that student who wishes to receive specific training in dietary and nutrition in order to perfect their professional dedication, while promoting healthy lifestyle habits.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
