Summary

GERICULTURE consists of the norms, techniques and procedures for the development of the physical and mental faculties of the elderly through the corresponding care. Through this postgraduate degree in Gericultura you will obtain specialized training in the specific care of the elderly, the functions and skills of a gerocultor and the necessary notions about first aid in geriatrics.

Goals

- Get the best possible quality of life for the elderly population, from promotion, prevention and assistance activities. - Assess the old state of health objectively registering the manifestations of dependence and independence that it has before each of the fundamental needs. - Develop physical care interventions aimed at dependent people in residences of older. - Develop socio -health care interventions aimed at dependent people in elderly residences. - Develop psychosocial care interventions aimed at dependent people in elderly residences. - Know what aspects to consider in the elderly when they suffer alteration of body temperature - Learn the types of predisposing factors in urinary incontinence - Know the field of nursing and the application of first aid in geriatrics if necessary. - Manage material and personal resources in a unit/service and first aid actions that may be required. - Know the operation of the different specific nursing procedures in Geriatrics - Provide students with the knowledge necessary to develop first aid actions. - Recognize risk and emergency situations and adopt the most appropriate prevention and protection measures in each case.
