Master in Clinical Linguistics

A solid knowledge in clinical linguistics will identify language problems in relation to its linguistic inadequacy and communicative problems, allowing to improve the evaluation and intervention processes from an integrative and multidisciplinary approach that justifies the problems that affect the form and communicative form and functions that prevent or limit the social interactions of the subjects due to the absence or deterioration of their linguistic skills. Clinical linguistics must become the support of specialists who develop their professional work with subjects who present problems in language and communication, so that from linguistic knowledge, they can expand the therapeutic tools destined for the rehabilitation of speech, language and communication.

- Improve research skills in the area of communication disorders. - Improve integration as professionals in the Evaluation and Language Rehabilitation programs. - Produce an improvement in areas that generate confusion in metalanguage and classification of communication alterations. - Recognize and identify the causes and neurological etiology that causes communication alterations. - Improve the description and analysis of the linguistic behavior of the subjects. - Develop and improve evaluations on abnormal linguistic behavior. - Improve hypothesis formulation to correct altered linguistic behavior.

The clinical linguistics master will train you for integration into the multidisciplinary teams of neurorrehabilitation, carrying out the description of the linguistic data of speakers with deficit, deepening in linguistic research and carrying out the design of protocols for the evaluation and rehabilitation of language pathologies in the field of clinical linguistics.

The clinical linguistics master prepares you to perform the analysis and description of the problems that cause alterations in the communicative form and function, preventing or limiting the subject's social interactions by inhibition, the deterioration or distortion of their linguistic ability. It will help you to know all aspects related to speech, linguistic pathologies and language alterations.

The Master in Clinical Linguistics is aimed at graduates or graduates in linguistics, language and literature, speech therapy, psychology and applied linguistics. Especially for all those interested in continuing their training in areas such as speech therapy, clinical, sociolinguistic, psycholinguistic, applied linguistics, clinical psychology and education.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
