Obesity is a chronic disease characterized by an excess of fat that in turn translates into an increase in weight, which exceeds by 15% the theoretical weight motivated by the increase in fat reserves. Since obesity is currently the most frequent eating disorder in developed societies, and that the cases are increasingly frequent, the intervention of qualified personnel that fights it with the appropriate knowledge is necessary. Through the present master's degree in obesity and eating disorders, the students will develop a complete training in the treatment of this type of disorders as well as their repercussions on the social environment, training to attend to the psychological aspects of this, offering nutritional advice to improve their situation.

- Provide the student, necessary and updated knowledge about nutrition and food, as well as useful work tools, that allow to know the nutritional requirements and recommendations in different pathophysiological situations that generate obesity, so that they can be applied in the workplace. - Provide the student with the knowledge that allows them a correct approach to the obese patient. - Update the knowledge that is related to the clinic of obese patients to help improve the identification, management and decrease of complications in these patients. - Know eating disorders or food psychopathology. - Learn the physiology and neurobiology of the regulation of eating behavior. - To be able to relate mental disorders and disturbed eating. - Learn the concept of obesity, psychosocial aspects and their treatment. - Learn the concept of anorexia nervosa, clinical aspects and their diagnosis and their treatment. - Learn the concept of bulimia nervosa, clinical aspects and their diagnosis and their treatment. - Identify other eating disorders. - Perform a clinical evaluation and diagnostic criteria of eating disorders. - Carry out interdisciplinary treatment in each of eating disorders - Learn the general concepts about dietary and nutrition. - Learn the classification of food and nutrients. - Know the digestive system. - Identify nutritional and energy needs. - Learn the functions and characteristics of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, vitamins, minerals. - Know the importance of water in the human body. - Define nutritional needs in the different stages of life, physiological states, etc. - Offer priority principles to establish the basis of balanced nutrition in the different stages of life and physiological periods, as a preventive measure of associated diseases the problems of poor nutrition. - Classify food and nutrients properly. - Describe the digestion process. - Estimate individual nutritional needs. - Determine the concept of coaching and its profits. - Prevent possible risks related to the coaching process. - Plan a coaching process.

Teaching in health personnel teaching programs, restoration services personnel, consumer information centers, chronic patient associations, schools, civic centers, sports centers, etc. Positions of responsibility in collective restoration companies: schools, catering, hotels, hospitals, geriatrics, ... commercial functions in food or pharmaceutical companies, nutritionist.

The master in obesity and eating disorders prepares you to acquire broad and integral knowledge referring to the field of nutrition and associated with it the causes, background, diagnosis and clinical, sanitary and social consequences of obesity, through updated and complete information.

The master in obesity and eating disorders is aimed at professionals, students and graduates of the health field and other related, and more specifically to the field of nutrition, which wants to expand or acquire knowledge about nutrition and obesity. In addition, it is equally oriented to all those non -professionals in this sector who have a personal interest in training in this subject, or that may be useful as a complement to their professional career.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
