Master Intensive Care: Master in Intensive Care + University Degree (+6 ECTS credits)

This intensive care master offers specialized training in the field. The ICUs are included within the block of special care units such as burned units, cardiac units ... for being services that have specialized material and personnel necessary for the management of patients with injuries or serious diseases. This course in intensive care will provide the student with the specific knowledge necessary to develop their professional work efficiently within this unit.

- Identify the specific knowledge of the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital for a good professional work and good care for users. - Identify the different types of procedures as well as know the processes of action in each of them. - Avoid stress that the professional entails working in a specific area. - Expand knowledge of all nursing techniques that can be done in this area. - Describe the organization of the Intensive Care Unit, taking into account both physical structure, human resources, material resources and patient reception. - Acquire a series of knowledge, skills and skills that allow health and administrative staff to face professional tasks and possible incidents that may arise in the management of personal data of patients, so that they are protected. - Acquire adequate technical and therapeutic skills that all health personnel will need for adequate development of professional, effective and responsible practice. - Acquire basic psychological notions to know how to communicate. - Treat psychological intervention in those most special situations such as terminal diseases. - Know that it is bad news. Detect when we are giving information that is being perceived as bad news by the patient. - Know and know how to apply the general methodology of bad news. - Develop in students those necessary competences to exercise the functions of technician in prevention of basic occupational risk. - Acquire knowledge that allows students to identify, avoid, correct and prevent specific problems that can endanger the health and integrity of workers. - Know the laws and norms in terms of occupational risk prevention based on the Occupational Risk Prevention Law. - Analyze the different action plans, prevention and first aid techniques that favor or help overcome different risk situations. - Make known the basic concepts and minimum demands of the Occupational Risk Prevention Law in the field of Health. - Identify and analyze the different risks that can occur in each of the phases and activities carried out in the sanitary sector. - Know the main rights and obligations that health sector workers must assume in relation to risk prevention. - Analyze and study the different preventive measures, both at the individual and collective level, which must be used in risk prevention in the tasks and processes of the health sector

The Master in Intensive Care will contribute to the student the basic knowledge to correctly monitor the state of the patient, based on the state of consciousness, skin, temperature and breathing. The course analyzes how to correctly monitor each of those aspects and the information that can be obtained from such surveillance.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
