Master of Permanent Formation in Realteras Conservation and Road Engineering + 60 ECTS credits

The road continues to maintain its preponderance in the set of the various modes of transport. In some European countries it is estimated that more than 90% of passenger traffic and more than 80% of merchandise transport is carried out by road. Someone once said: "If the road was not invented we would need to invent it", and according to its use, that statement is totally real. The road heritage of a country like Spain lavishly exceeds 210,000 million euros, so its conservation is a necessity in order to ensure its present and future sustainability. In addition, conserving roads, is a responsibility for society, if we want them to maintain their functionality throughout their useful life. The conservation and maintenance of road networks, in addition to favoring road safety constitutes an investment of high efficiency and very notable efficiency, contributing to extend the useful life of the infrastructure maintaining the security of the circulation with an adequate use of the available resources.

The ultimate goal is to make the theoretical training with the calculation and resolution of practical cases that allow students to end the course with the criteria and resources to face real problems. Spending this master's student, the student will obtain a practical and general vision in a very specialized civil engineering branch, such as road conservation. The teaching methodology is based on a totally distance and asynchronous (deferred time) functioning model so that each person can study at their own rhythm and without schedules: from anywhere, at any time. Teaching and learning develops in virtual classrooms. These classrooms house different tools such as forums, messaging, etc. that allow interaction with teachers and assistants, and provide the formation of a bidirectional character.

At the end, students can analyze the types of deterioration and problems derived from poor conservation in a road infrastructure, propose the most appropriate intervention to each case to solve the problem and manage the construction process. Likewise, students will be able to assess the different solutions to find the one that offers the appropriate security level being economically competitive. Professionals trained in road conservation can access jobs in construction and services companies, public administrations, project consultancies and engineering companies in general.

This title will train students to manage and solve common problems that occur in road conservation contracts, optimizing the use of resources and using engineering techniques and procedures especially focused on these types of actions.

The object is to facilitate the adaptation of people linked to the construction sector, working for both public and private sector, to administrative and technical demands in road conservation work, in different degrees and complexity levels.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
