MF1057-2 Professional English for Tourism Course

Tourism has evolved to the same extent that economic, political and social development has done so. Today the tourist consumes various types of tourism such as: urban, cultural, health, sun and beach tourism, cruises, ecotourism, nautical, adventure and safaris, religious, etc. which have appeared following the demands and frequent uses of their customers. In this sense, the promotion and sale of tourist services has also evolved and continues in the process of permanent change since they have to be in continuous recycling because it is important to adapt to change, social demand and new expectations. This course will provide the student with the necessary knowledge to be able to apply professional English in the world of tourism and hospitality.

The objectives to be achieved with the realization of this English course for online tourism are the following: - Interpret oral messages of medium complexity in English, expressed by customers and suppliers at normal speed in the field of tourism activity, in order to provide adequate service, achieve customer satisfaction, materialize sales and exchange information with other professionals in their field. - Interpret, without specifying a dictionary, medium complexity documents written in English, within the scope of tourism activity, to obtain information, process it and carry out the appropriate actions. - Express customers and suppliers in English, oral fluid messages, medium complexity, in the field of tourism, in situations of face -to -face or distance communication, in order to provide adequate service, achieve customer satisfaction, materialize sales and exchange information. - Produce in English, written documents of medium complexity, correct grammatically and spelling, necessary for the effective fulfillment of its mission and to guarantee the agreements of their activity, using a broad vocabulary typical of its professional field. - Communicate orally with spontaneity with one or more clients or suppliers in English, in the provision of tourist services.

After carrying out this English tourism course you can carry out your activity in productive units of travel agencies and other entities dedicated to tourist distribution (reservation centrals, distribution systems, representatives of service provisions, etc.).

This training conforms to the training itinerary of the MF0157_2 Professional English for tourism for tourism certifying the different competition units included. And it is aimed at the accreditation of the professional competences acquired through work experience and non -formal training, via which will choose to obtain the corresponding certificate of professionalism, through the respective calls that are publishing the different autonomous communities, as well as the Ministry of Labor itself (Royal Decree 659/2023, of July 18, which develops the ordering of the System of Vocational Training the accreditation of professional competences acquired by work experience or non -formal training).

This professional English course for tourism is addressed to those who wish to expand or improve their knowledge about the professional English focused on tourism. Specifically, professionals who are linked to the world of tourism and intend to enhance their skills related to their work task. In general, to all those people who are interested in knowing the skills and attitudes they must have to exercise this profession.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
