Course MF2131-3 Restoration of vintage, historical and automaton mechanisms

In the field of arts and crafts, it is necessary to know the different techniques of restoration of period, historical and automaton watch mechanisms, within the professional area of artistic recovery, repair and maintenance. Thus, this course is intended to provide the necessary knowledge to restore period, historical and automaton mechanisms.

- Describe the typology used throughout the history of time measuring instruments. - Determine the structure and fundamental characteristics of the different types of watches. - Describe the operation of the different types of watches. - Determine the tools, tools, machinery and equipment for the replacement, maintenance and restoration of watchmaking, complying with occupational risk prevention regulations and environmental protection. - Apply watchmaking techniques, fulfilling the reception sheets, visually examining the set, indicating the requested intervention and the risk of deterioration, identifying the clock and recording its status. - Apply clocking / maintenance viability analysis techniques, both technically and economically, valuing the risks of deterioration, technical limitations, availability of materials, and participation of other professionals, to decide the convenience of the intervention and carry out budgets. - Use customer service procedures, issuing invoices and attending complaints. - Apply diagnostic techniques of period watches, historical and automatons, carrying out visual identification, describing the technical, chronological and historical-artistic characteristics, estimating the status of the units of force, the transmission elements, the escape, the indication system and the wear of the centers, wheels and pine nuts and prepare deposit documents, restoration files and technical records. - Determine restoration operations for period watches, historical and automatons from its disassembly, exploded and de -assembly, specifying cleaning, recovery or reproduction tasks and replacement of parts to be developed on external and machinery mechanisms attending to a restoration file. - Organize the restoration operations of period watches, historical and automatons, taking into account the quality and time spent. - Apply machinery assembly techniques, assembly of units and exterior elements of the period, historical and automaton clock, handling specific watchmaker tools. - Apply cleaning and greased operations of period, historical and automaton machinery parts, perform the following operations by completing a technical record of the restoration file, ensuring quality and complying with the regulations for prevention of occupational hazards and environmental protection. - Apply quality and finishing techniques in period watches, historical and automatons checking the operation and taking into account customer information. - Prepare reproduction and replacement operations of time, historical and automaton machinery parts, completing a technical record of the restoration file, determining dimensions, materials, equipment, ensuring quality and complying with the regulations for prevention of occupational hazards and environmental protection. - Perform reproduction and replacement operations of time, historical and automaton machinery pieces, completing a technical record of the restoration file, determining dimensions, materials, equipment, ensuring quality and complying with the regulations for prevention of occupational hazards and environmental protection - Perform replacement operations and adjustment of period watches elements, historical and automatons, ensuring its operation. - Apply quality and finishing techniques in period watches, historical and automatons, checking the operation and taking into account the information of the restoration file.

It develops its professional activity in stores, companies and/or watchmaking workshops dedicated to the distribution, sale, repair and maintenance of fine mechanical watchmaking and/or period, historical and automaton watches. It works on its own or of others, repairs fine mechanical watchmaking and performs auxiliary activities for restoration of period watches, historical and automatons, under the supervision of a superior technician in the case of watches that enjoy singular protection and guardianship that appear in the Catalog of Heritage or those declared of cultural interest included in the General Inventory of Personal Property of the Spanish Historical Heritage (Law 16/1985 of Spanish Historical Heritage and RD 111/1986 Partial development of the law).

This formation is adjusted to the training itinerary of the MF2131_3 Restoration of period, historical and automatose watches mechanisms, certifying having overcome the different competence units in them included, and is aimed at the accreditation of the professional competences acquired through the work experience and non -formal training, via which it will choose to obtain the corresponding certificate of professionalism, through the respective. Calls that are publishing the different autonomous communities, as well as the Ministry of Labor itself (Royal Decree 659/2023, of July 18, which develops the management of the professional training system and establishes a permanent procedure for the accreditation of professional competences acquired by work experience or non -formal training).

This course is aimed at professionals in the world of arts and crafts, specifically in restoration techniques of period, historical and automaton watches mechanisms, and all those interested in restoring period, historical and automaton watch mechanisms.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
