Summary

This course of ophthalmology, optics and optometry offers you a specialized training in the field. Unlike other medical specialties, ophthalmology has evolved greatly thanks to the technological advances that exist today. Formerly, ophthalmology professionals focused exclusively on the clinical part (diagnosis and prescription of treatments), while the surgical part predominates. In short, with this course the student will learn the necessary knowledge to develop the ophthalmological clinical evaluation, as well as its correct diagnosis and treatment in eye conditions. Currently, much of the population suffers from vision problems, originated for different reasons. For this reason, the work developed by optics and optometry is essential to correct these problems as soon as possible and thus improve the quality of life of people. This course aims to provide information on eye anatomy, visual deficiencies and ophthalmic lenses, as well as more practical knowledge, such as the realization of an optometric analysis and the different techniques for the treatment of the most frequent visual deficiencies.

Goals

- Evaluate, indicate, treat and follow ophthalmological diseases. - Present the latest advances in relation to intervention with the ophthalmological pathologies they can present. - Correct ophthalmological problems in people over 45, especially in cardiovascular risk groups and diabetes. - Acquire knowledge about ocular anatomy. - Know the perception process, how visual information is processed and an image is formed. - Describe the most frequent visual defects found by the professional in customers. - Describe the procedure to perform an optometric exam and obtain a graduation. - Identify and explain the main characteristics of ophthalmic lenses. - Acquire the basic notions on the frames and contact lenses. - Know the norms collected by the optical code.

This course of ophthalmology, optics and optometry will provide the student with the necessary knowledge to develop the ophthalmological clinical evaluation, as well as its correct diagnosis and treatment in eye conditions, it also prepares you to learn the ocular anatomy and detect the most frequent visual defects that occur in the person, affecting the vision of the same. It also prepares you to develop an optometric analysis and thus obtain a graduation, and also allows you to select the appropriate treatment to the person based on their visual defect.

It is also aimed at every professional who is interested in knowing the work carried out by the optics and optometry professional, as well as addressed to anyone interested in knowing how the visual system and the most frequent visual defects that are currently being treated.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
