Pediatric care and care course (university degree + 8 ECTS credits)

Thanks to this in progress in attention and pediatric care you can specialize in pediatric care, in the area from childhood to adolescence to improve their quality of life and health. When finished, students will have knowledge about the growth and development of childhood, as well as the health care process that must receive during the growth stage. Finally, students will study on the most recurring pathophysiology during this stage, as well as the action protocol in the face of pediatric urgency and the basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedure in pediatrics. The study of health promoting habits such as oral health will also be of great importance.

- Study attention during the integral development of the child. - Know the components of the nursing care process in pediatric care. - Learn the different health exams that health services must perform throughout the pediatric age. - Identify the most common alterations and pathologies in childhood. - Acquire the main knowledge of pediatric emergencies and their action protocol.

The professional outputs of this course in attention and pediatric care are that of the Nursing professional specialized in pediatrics, qualified personnel in attention to childhood and adolescence, pediatricians, health personnel with contact in the pediatrics units or in private/public clinics, as well as the staff of the Health Emergency Unit.

With this course in attention and pediatric care you will have the possibility of receiving extensive training related to pediatric care by nursing staff, taking into account child development. It is intended to train personnel to perform health reviews in childhood, identify possible common pathologies, as well as act in case of health urgency.
