This course in periodontal diseases, diagnosis and exploration of the patient offers specialized training in the field. There is some ignorance about the different consequences that the different periodontal diseases can bring with them both in oral health and in the general state of patients. Therefore, it is essential that health personnel and, in particular, those who are dedicated to the area of oral health know these diseases in depth, attending to their etiology, symptomatology, diagnosis and treatment.

- Describe the tooth anatomy as well as the different procedures that make up the dentition. - Know the anatomy of the periodont, describing the basic concepts and the different tissues that compose it: gum, periodontal ligament and alveolar bone. - Identify the different varieties of gingivitis: Gingivitis induced by the plate and gingivitis not associated with the tooth plate. - Learn the etiology of periodontal disease, the different varieties of it as well as the patterns of destruction. - Know the registration and exploration, as well as the basic periodontal examination and the rest of the exams that are performed for the diagnosis of periodontal diseases. - Describe the clinical criteria for the application of the different treatments of the periodontal disease: antiseptic, antibiotic, mechanical and surgical.

It develops its professional activity both on its own and integrated into companies, public or private, dedicated to dentistry and in particular, to the treatment of periodontal diseases.

This course in periodontal diseases, diagnosis and exploration of the patient will provide students with the necessary knowledge that will allow them to acquire the fundamental competences to focus their professional career in the field of periodontal diseases.

The present course in periodontal diseases, diagnosis and exploration of the patient is aimed at tooth and/or health professionals as well as any person who is interested, either professional or for personal reasons, in acquiring knowledge related to periodontal diseases.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
