UF0211 Course prevention of the health state of ecological crops and product application

The intensive production model has not only caused a destruction of the environment, but has also had strong negative repercussions on rural society. The objective of this course is to provide students with the necessary competences to control and manage the health state of agroecosystem, carrying out the operations of implementation, maintenance, production and collection of crops in an ecological agricultural exploitation, applying quality criteria, sustainability and profitability, complying with the legislation of organic farming, quality control and prevention of current occupational risk prevention.

- Manage ecological techniques and methods that maintain the right balance between parasites, pathogens and cultivation. - Describe each of the usable ecological infrastructure that serve as balancers between phytoparasites and their predators and/or parasitoid. - List and correctly describe the cultural, physical and biotechnical techniques that prevent pests, diseases and unwanted spontaneous vegetation. - Describe the machines, tools and tools used in cultural, physical and biotechnical methods. - Indicate risk prevention measures that affect the management of techniques and preventive methods of health control. - Describe and recognize parasitic, non -parasitic agents, unwanted spontaneous vegetation, nutritional deficiencies, more frequent diseases and pathophysiopathies causing damage to plants and soils, according to the observation made. - Perform the counts and sampling with the appropriate techniques and materials, determining and correctly quantifying the auxiliary fauna, pests, diseases, unwanted spontaneous vegetation and observed pathophysiopathies. - Select the organic products to be used based on the health assessment of agroecosystem. - Indicate what security and ecological production measures must be taken in the application of biological treatments. - Maintain correctly the machines, equipment and material used - Collect the waste or by -products of the application and washing process for recycling and/or elimination. - Perform previous operations taking the appropriate measures to prevention of occupational hazards and ecological production.

This professional exercises his activity as a qualified worker on his own or own account in ecological crops: ecological horticultural and fruit exploits, ecological herbaceous crops, production of plants for ecological gardening, research institutions and experimentation in ecological crops, service to organic farming, nursery and school orchards, certification of organic products, farms schools, nature classrooms, etc.

This training conforms to the training itinerary of the training unit Prevention of the health state of ecological crops and application of products, certifying having overcome the different competition units included, and is aimed at the accreditation of the professional competences acquired through the work experience and non -formal training.

This course is aimed at all those people who, due to their work functions or for personal interest, intend to acquire the necessary knowledge to control and manage the health state of the agroecosystem complying with the legislation of organic farming, quality control and current occupational risk prevention.

This training is not included in the scope of official regulated training (Infant Education, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Official Professional Training FP, Baccalaureate, University Degree, Official University Master and PhD). It is therefore a complementary and/or specialization training, aimed at acquiring certain skills, skills or aptitudes of a professional nature, being able to be barely as merit in workbags and/or opposition competitions, always within the complementary training section and/or continuous training being always essential to review the specific requirements of the public labor stock of the public labor stock market.
