Summary

In the field of food industries, it is necessary to know the different fields of obtaining seeds of seeds and fats, within the professional area of oils and fats. Thus, with this course it is intended to provide the necessary knowledge for extraction of seed oils.

Goals

- Characterize and maintain the necessary equipment and supplies for oil extraction. - Identify seed oil extraction operations from both pressing and solveing extraction, attending to the established production and quality criteria. - Classify and describe the obtaining of oils from other fatty materials (vegetables and animals), according to the prescriptions established in the procedure manuals. - Verify that both the process and the oils obtained comply with the pre -established quality criteria. - Apply the necessary prevention and protection measures to guarantee personal safety and hygiene during the process of extraction and refining oils. - Characterize operations to obtain flour and protein cakes in oil extraction processes, according to the procedure and manufacturing manuals. - Check that protein cakes and flours obtained in oil extraction processes comply with the pre -established quality criteria. - Apply the necessary prevention and protection measures to guarantee personal safety and hygiene, during the process of obtaining flours and cakes, obtained in the corresponding phases of oil extraction.

Professional opportunities

Companies of the Food Industry of extraction, obtaining and packaging of seed oils and obtaining edible fats. They are employed or their own workers who exercise their activity with technical autonomy in the functional areas of reception, extraction, production and packaging.
